HANSON’S BAYLEE YOUNG stands in the circle during Saturday’s Division IV regional playoff victory over Houma Christian at the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers Softball Complex. Young smacked a pair of home runs while also earning the win in the circle to help the Lady Tigers. Hanson’s Casey Fitzgerald belted a three-run game-winning homer, lifting the Lady Tigers to a 12-9 win in eight innings. Hanson will play Cedar Creek in the quarterfinals of the LHSAA State Tournament in Sulphur on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

Jordan Landry of Morgan City, who already won a Louisiana state gymnastics title, recently placed first in regional competition against top athletes from six states.
