MCHS boys soccer to face NOMMA in playoffs Friday

The Morgan City High School boys soccer team will begin Division III postseason play Friday when it travels to face New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy in a 6 p.m. contest.
Morgan City enters the postseason as the No. 24 seed, while New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy is the No. 9 seed.
New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy won its regular-season finale against Helen Cox 3-1.
New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy finished its season with a 15-5-2 overall record, including a 4-0-2 mark in District 7-III action.
Morgan City finished 8-11-2 this season, including 3-3-1 in District 6-III play.
The teams had three common opponents this season in Ellender, Parkview Baptist and Lusher Charter.
Morgan City split with Ellender, beating them 3-1 and falling to them 2-1.
New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy beat Ellender 5-0.
Morgan City fell to Parkview Baptist 5-0, and New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy fell to them 2-1.
Morgan City fell to Lusher Charter 1-0, and New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy lost to it 2-0.
The winner of Friday’s contest will meet No. 8 Bossier in the second round. Bossier received a first-round bye.
