Sales tax collections surge in July

For the first time in many months, St. Mary Parish sales and use tax collections soared during July, rising over 28 percent from July 2016.

Mabel Pousson, who turned 101 years old on Thursday, celebrates her birthday Saturday at her Bayou Vista home. Her birthday wish was to live to see her 102nd birthday.
