White Castle tops MCHS, 44-6

White Castle High School defeated Morgan City High School 44-6 Friday at Tiger Stadium in Morgan City.
The Bulldogs never trailed as they scored on four of their first five possessions.
White Castle took a 6-0 lead on its first drive via a Javier Batiste 4-yard pass to Marcus Williams.
The squad added a touchdown on its second drive via a Batiste 25-yard pass to Jabez Allen. A two-point conversion pass from Batiste to Alex Brown gave the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead.
After Morgan City's William LaRocca intercepted a White Castle pass on the Bulldogs' next drive, Morgan City scored three plays later.
On second down from the White Castle 31 yard line, Morgan City's Devonta Grogan connected with Hayden Barron on a 31-yard touchdown play. Helder Hernandez's extra point was no good, but Morgan City had cut White Castle's advantage to 14-6.
However, that was as close as Morgan City would get to the visitor.
White Castle added touchdowns on Williams touchdown runs of 37, 20 and 73 yards, a Batiste 1-yard run and a Brown 34-yard touchdown pass to Batiste.
White Castle totaled 573 yards of offense (318 rushing and 255 passing).
Williams had 11 carries for 204 yards and three touchdowns, while he also caught a 4-yard touchdown pass.
Batiste completed 7 of 10 passes for 144 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 74 yards.
Brown led White Castle's receivers with three catches for 73 yards.
Morgan City was limited to 71 yards of offense (41 rushing and 30 passing).
Grogan led the squad with nine carries for 106 yards, while he also completed 1 of 1 passes for 31 yards.
Hayden Barron led Morgan City's receivers with a 31-yard touchdown reception.
Morgan City (0-2) will return to action next week when it travels to face Erath.
