Patterson tops Westgate in OT
The Patterson Lumberjacks defeated Westgate 95-93 in overtime in New Iberia Monday.
Randy Paul Jr. had a triple-double to lead Patterson as he scored 20 points, snared 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. He was one of five Lumberjacks in double figures. Other Patterson scorers were: Kyler Paul, 21; Elijah Williams, 18; Kai Schexnayder, 15; Ty Walton, 13; Louis Jones, three; and Tyrone Tillman and Dillon Gunner, two each.
Patterson (9-6) will return to action Thursday when it begins play in the St. Martinville Senior High School Holiday Shootout with a 3 p.m. contest against Alexandria.
CCHS returns to action this weekend
The Central Catholic Eagles will return to action this weekend when they participate in E.D. White’s Cardinal Classic.
Central Catholic will meet H.L. Bourgeois Friday at 5:30 p.m., while Saturday, the squad will meet E.D. White at 12:30 p.m. Central Catholic will conclude the tournament with a 6 p.m. contest Monday against South Lafourche.
MCHS soccer team falls to Parkview Baptist
The Morgan City Tigers fell to Parkview Baptist 5-0 at home Monday.
This season, the Tigers are 4-7-1 overall.
Morgan City has wins against the following: Carencro, Bolton, Ellender and against Patrick Taylor in its first District 6-III contest in as many games.
In addition to Parkview Baptist, the Tigers have fallen to: H.L. Bourgeois, South Terrebonne twice, Covenant Christian, Ellender and Central Lafourche.
The Tigers have tied Opelousas this season.
The Tigers will return to action Monday when they host Westminster Christian in a 5 p.m. contest.
In girls soccer, Morgan City is 1-7-2 this year.
The Lady Tigers have beaten Ellender.
They have fallen to: H.L. Bourgeois, South Terrebonne, West Jefferson, Terrebonne, North Vermilion, New Iberia and in their District 6-III opener to Patrick Taylor.
The Lady Tigers will return to action Monday when they host Westminster Christian in a 3 p.m. contest.
