Patterson girls hoops tops CCA to improve to 4-0

The Patterson Lumberjills won their fourth straight game to start the season, most recently defeating Covenant Christian 58-12 at home Tuesday.
The wins for Patterson (4-0) are their first since the 2016-17 season after going winless a year ago.
Patterson opened the season with a 60-31 victory against Ascension Catholic on Nov. 12 before defeating Loreauville (43-25) and Jeanerette (38-26) Nov. 13 and Thursday, respectively.
Patterson will return to action Tuesday when it travels to face Westgate.
Berwick is 0-2
Berwick has started its girls' basketball season with an 0-2 mark.
The Lady Panthers fell to Vandebilt Catholic 58-22 in Houma Monday after falling to Central Lafourche 52-27 on Nov. 12.
No individual stats were available in the loss to Vandebilt Catholic, but in the loss to Central Lafourche, Maci Broussard led Berwick with 17 points.
Berwick (0-2) won’t return to action until Nov. 27 when it hosts Hanson Memorial.
Morgan City falls
to STM
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell Friday at home to St. Thomas More 49-26.
No individual stats were available.
A day earlier, Morgan City dropped its season opener to Highland Baptist in New Iberia 44-26.
Morgan City (0-2) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Covenant Christian.
Berwick falls to
Vandebilt Catholic (boys)
The Berwick Panthers fell on the road Monday to Vandebilt Catholic 60-45.
Berwick trailed 21-15 following the first quarter, and Vandebilt Catholic led 39-24 at halftime. The Terriers took a 54-32 lead heading into the final period.
No individual stats were submitted.
Last week, Berwick started its season at the Grace King Tournament where the Panthers finished 0-3, falling to East Jefferson (59-26), Destrehan (71-34) and Cohen College Prep (48-39).
Berwick (0-4) won’t return to action until Nov. 28 when it begins play in Assumption’s tournament.
Morgan City falls to
Pascagoula (Boys)
The Morgan City Tigers dropped their season opener to Pascagoula, Mississippi, 55-45 on the first day of Thibodaux High’s Thanksgiving Classic.
Morgan City (0-1) will return to action Tuesday when it meets Central Lafourche at 5 p.m.
CCHS falls to Dunham
Central Catholic dropped its season opener as it fell to the defending Division III state champion Dunham High School 82-42 in first-day action at Dunham’s tournament Monday.
Central Catholic (0-1) will return to action in the tournament Tuesday when it meets Livonia at 4:30 p.m.
MCHS falls to Terrebonne (Boys Soccer)
The Morgan City Tigers fell at home to Terrebonne 5-3 in boys’ soccer action Monday.
Thursday, Morgan City opened its season with a 7-1 victory at home against South Lafourche.
Morgan City (1-1) will return to action Wednesday when it travels to face Westminster Christian in a 6 p.m. contest.
South Terrebonne defeats MCHS (Girls Soccer)
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell at home to South Terrebonne 4-1 Monday.
Morgan City has started its season with a 1-4 mark. After defeating South Lafourche 6-0 at home to start the season, Morgan City dropped three games this weekend at Central Lafourche’s tournament, falling to Hahnville (6-1), Thibodaux (8-0) and Bonnabel (4-0).
Morgan City (1-4) will return to action Wednesday when it travels to face Westminster Christian.
