Patterson, Berwick win regular-season finales
The Patterson Lumberjacks run-ruled Centerville 10-0 in six innings in nondistrict action Saturday at Patterson.
Patterson scored four runs in the first, one in the second, three in the fourth and one each in the fifth and sixth innings.
Lumberjack pitchers Reid Perkins, Joseph Larson, Don Diaz and Kaden Samuels combined to limit Centerville to one hit.
Perkins earned the win. In three innings, he surrendered no hits, hit one batter and fanned six.
Kaden Samuels earned the save. In one inning, he surrendered one hit and one walk.
Amarea Christopher, Samuels and Julius Albert led Patterson’s offense. Christopher was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two stolen bases and a run, while Samuels was 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Albert was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs.
Other top Patterson offensive contributors were Randy Paul, 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and a run; Larson, 1-for-3, two RBIs and a run; Dylan Fabre, an RBI, two stolen bases and two runs; and Noah Bryant, an RBI, two stolen bases and a run.
The Berwick Panthers closed their regular season with a 4-2 victory against Westminster Christian in nondistrict action Saturday in Berwick.
While each team scored a run in the first, Berwick scored one in the second and two in the fifth for a 4-1 advantage. Westminster scored its final run in the top of the sixth.
Berwick pitcher Zeph Hoffpauir limited Westminster to just one hit in earning the win. In seven innings, Hoffpauir surrendered two runs (one earned) with one hit batter, one walk and 11 strikeouts.
Chad LaGrange and Hoffpauir led the Berwick offense. LaGrange finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Hoffpauir was 1-for-2 with a home run, an RBI and a run.
Other top Berwick offensive contributors were Barrett Hover, 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI; and Seth Giroir, 1-for-3, a double.
