CCHS run-rules H.L. Bourgeois

Central Catholic run-ruled H.L. Bourgeois 11-1 in five innings in first-day action at Central Catholic’s baseball tournament Thursday in Amelia.
Luke Barbier led Central Catholic’s offense with a 2-for-3 performance with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Other top Central Catholic offensive contributors were as follows: Philip Guarisco, 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs; Grant Stansbury, 2-for-3, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored; Caleb Menina and Gunnar Theriot, each 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored; and Nathan Hebb, 1-for-3, an RBI and a run scored.
Trent Hillen earned the win. In four innings, he surrendered three hits, one walk and fanned 10.
Caleb O’con pitched an inning of relief and surrendered an earned run on one hit with one walk and three strikeouts.
Central Catholic will return to action in its tournament this weekend when it faces Loreauville Friday at 5:40 p.m. before concluding the tournament with a 6:30 p.m. contest Saturday vs. Patterson. Both games will be played in Amelia.
Berwick falls to CL
The Berwick Panthers fell to Central Lafourche 10-6 at Central Catholic’s tournament Thursday in Amelia.
Eric Guillot led Berwick with a 3-for-4 day at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Other top Berwick offensive contributors were as follows: Landon Harris, 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored; Reed Gonzales, 1-for-3, a double; Dayton Clark, 1-for-3, an RBI; and Seth Canty, 1-for-4, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored.
Evan Thomas suffered the loss. In 2.2 innings, he surrendered four runs — four earned — on six hits with two walks.
Berwick will return to action in the tournament this weekend when it faces St. John Friday in Amelia. Saturday, the squad will play Covenant Christian at 2 p.m. in Amelia.
Hanson defeats
Patterson
Hanson Memorial defeated Patterson 7-2 at Central Catholic’s tournament Thursday.
Kaden Samuels and Reid Perkins led Patterson’s offense. Samuels finished 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and two stolen bases, while Perkins was 2-for-3 with a triple. Joseph Larson added a 1-for-3 performance with a double and a run scored.
Roy Jones suffered the loss in relief. In five innings, he surrendered six runs — six earned — on six hits with two walks, two hit batters and five strikeouts.
Patterson will return to action in the tournament Friday when it meets H.L. Bourgeois at 3:35 p.m. in Morgan City before concluding the tournament Saturday with a 6:30 p.m. contest against Central Catholic in Amelia.
Morgan City falls to CCA
The Morgan City Tigers fell to Covenant Christian Thursday 12-2 at Central Catholic’s tournament.
Kris Prejeant and Logan Metrejean led Morgan City’s offense. Prejeant was 2-for-3, while Metrejean was 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Prejeant suffered the loss. In two innings, he surrendered four runs — four earned — on three hits with one walk, one hit batter and two strikeouts.
Morgan City will return to action in the tournament this weekend, facing Houma Christian Friday at Morgan City at 7:45 p.m. before closing the tournament with an 11:45 a.m. contest Saturday against Ascension Catholic in Morgan City.
