CCHS Lady Eagles fall to Hanson

The Central Catholic High School Lady Eagles fell to Hanson Memorial 56-41 in both teams’ regular-season finale Friday in Morgan City.
Lay Bertrand and Yani Johnson led Central Catholic with 11 points each, while Aaliyah Poole added nine.
Central Catholic (12-14 overall, 3-2 in district) now will await its postseason seed and opponent, both of which will be announced Monday.
Morgan City falls to Ellender
Defending Class 4A state champion Ellender routed Morgan City 83-53 in Houma in both teams’ District 7-4A finale Friday.
Ellender took a 16-6 lead after a quarter of play, led 37-25 at halftime and entered the fourth quarter ahead 68-39.
Alisha Singleton led Morgan City with 23 points.
Morgan City (13-14, 1-5) now will await its postseason seed and opponent, which will be announced Monday.
Abbeville tops Berwick
The Berwick Lady Panthers ended their season with a 40-24 loss to Abbeville on the road Friday.
Abbeville pulled away in the second half, specifically in the third quarter, when it outscored Berwick 11-3.
Ahead 19-15 at halftime, Abbeville used its big third quarter to take a 30-18 lead after three periods of play. The home team added to its lead with a 10-6 fourth-quarter scoring advantage.
Early on, Berwick trailed 10-6 after a quarter of play before each team scored nine points in the second period.
Madison Carline led Berwick with 10 points, while Arianna Jones scored five. Other Berwick scorers were Maci Broussard, Madison Billiot, Tia Whitehead and Nicole Johnson, two each, and Tamera Whitehead, one.
Berwick concludes its season with a 5-20 overall mark and a 3-9 record in league play.
North Vermilion beats Patterson
Patterson ended its season with a 49-26 loss at North Vermilion Friday in District 8-3A action.
No individual Patterson stats were submitted.
Patterson concludes its season with an 0-19 overall record and an 0-12 district mark.
