CCHS defeats MCHS 51-40
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles defeated the Morgan City Lady Tigers 51-40 in basketball action at Morgan City High Monday.
Yani Johnson led Central Catholic with 26 points. Other Central Catholic scorers were Laurielle Bias, 11; Caitlyn Picou, seven; Jade Oliney, four; and Kamille Lightfoot, two.
Deryon Johnson led Morgan City with 15 points. Other top Morgan City scorers were Haylie Crappell, nine; Anaria Clark, eight; Nikeisha Paddio, six; and Ta’Lea Smith, two.
Friday, Morgan City fell to Abbeville 44-29 on the road.
No individual stats were available.
Also Friday, Central Catholic fell at home to Franklin 68-23.
Charlotte Callais led Central Catholic with 14 points. Other top Central Catholic scorers were Oliney, seven, and Bias, two.
Central Catholic (2-1) won’t return to action until Dec. 3 when it travels to face St. John.
Morgan City (0-3) will return to action Tuesday when it travels to face Patterson at 5:30 p.m.
Berwick defeats Erath
The Berwick Lady Panthers defeated Erath on the road 53-46 Thursday.
Lay Bertrand led Berwick with 24 points, while Bronwyn Colbert also reached double figures with 16. Other top Berwick scorers were Emily Lousteau, eight; Lilly Eues, three; and Bethanie Coleman, two.
Berwick (2-0) won’t return to action until Monday when it hosts Ascension Episcopal in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
Patterson splits games
The Patterson Lumberjills split its games Thursday and Friday as the squad fell to Catholic High-New Iberia 47-36 Thursday and defeated Centerville 62-15 Friday.
Patterson (1-2) will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Morgan City at 5:30 p.m.
