Berwick Lady Panthers rout Thrive Academy 45-12

'Jacks defeat Centerville

The Berwick Lady Panthers eased past Thrive Academy 45-12 in nondistrict action Tuesday in Berwick.
Lay Bertrand led Berwick with 23 points. Other Berwick scorers were as follows: Ariana Jones and Bronwyn Colbert, nine each, and Emily Lousteau and Casey Crowe, two each.
Berwick will return to action Friday when it travels to face False River Academy in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
CCHS falls to
Highland Baptist
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles dropped their District 8-1A opener to Highland Baptist 52-44 in Morgan City Tuesday.
Yani Johnson led Central Catholic with 30 points. Other Central Catholic scorers were as follows: Charlotte Callais, seven; Jade Oliney and Brianna Johnson, three each; and Laurielle Bias, one.
Central Catholic will return to action Friday when it travels to face Vermilion Catholic in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
MCHS falls to
South Terrebonne
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to South Terrebonne 47-34 in Morgan City’s District 8-4A opener at home Tuesday.
No individual stats were available.
Morgan City will return to action Wednesday when it hosts Covenant Christian in nondistrict action.
Lumberjacks defeat
Centerville
The Patterson Lumberjacks defeated Centerville 78-57 in nondistrict action at Patterson Tuesday.
Elijah Williams led Patterson with 23 points. Other Patterson scorers were as follows: Tyrone Tillman, 18; Ty Walton and Mark Hilliard, seven each; Kai Schexnayder and K.J. Paul, five each; Randy Paul Jr., four; and Josiah Jennings, three.
Patterson will return to action Friday when it hosts Morgan City in a 7 p.m. varsity contest.
Brusly tops CCHS
Central Catholic fell on the road to Brusly 72-52 in nondistrict action Tuesday.
The Eagles fell in a big hole early, falling behind 21-5 after a quarter. Brusly extended its lead to 44-20 at halftime and 58-32 after three quarters of play. Central Catholic outscored Brusly 20-14 in the final period.
Despite the loss, three Eagles reached double figures led by Tyler Smith’s 15 points. Other Central Catholic scorers were as follows: Demondrick Blackburn, 12; Davidyione Bias, 10; D.J. Lewis, eight; and Taylor Blanchard, seven.
Central Catholic will return to action Friday when it travels to face South Terrebonne.
