Berwick High routs Brusly 15-3 Thursday

The Berwick Lady Panthers run-ruled Brusly 15-3 in five innings in Berwick Thursday.
Bronwyn Colbert earned the win as she tossed a three hitter in five innings. She surrendered three runs — two earned.
Offensively, Berwick collected 15 hits, led by Ashlynn Fitter, who finished 3-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. Other top Berwick offensive contributors were as follows: Bryleigh DeHart, 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored; Savannah Hunt, 2-for-3, a double and three RBIs; Anna Vaccarella, 2-for-2, a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Ella Hover, 2-for-3, a double and a run scored; Hannah Beadle, 1-for-3, a double, an RBI and a run scored; Maggie Lemoine, 1-for-1, an RBI and a run scored; and Mikah Ortiz, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run scored.
Berwick will return to action this weekend when it participates in Central Catholic’s tournament. The Lady Panthers will meet Houma Christian Friday at 4 p.m., while Saturday, the squad will play Ascension Catholic at noon and Morgan City at 4 p.m.
CCA defeats
Morgan City
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to Covenant Christian Academy 14-2 in nondistrict action in Morgan City Thursday.
Morgan City top offensive contributors were as follows: Tia Estay, 2-for-2; Madison Sons, 2-for-3, a stolen base; Talea Smith, 2-for-3; and Brynn Stephens, 2-for-4, four stolen bases and a run scored.
Stephens suffered the loss. In five innings, she surrendered 11 runs — nine earned — on 15 hits with two walks, two hit batters and two strikeouts.
Morgan City will return to action this weekend at Central Catholic’s tournament. Morgan City will meet Terrebonne at 4 p.m., will face Covenant Christian Academy Saturday at noon and will conclude the tournament with a 4 p.m. contest against Berwick.
Lutcher tops Patterson
Lutcher run-ruled Patterson 10-0 in five innings in District 9-3A action at Patterson Thursday.
Layla Giroir and Alexis Bernadou each led Patterson with a 1-for-2 performance.
Makenna LaGarde suffered the loss. In four innings, she surrendered six runs — six earned — on 10 hits with two walks.
Patterson will return to action this weekend when it participates in Central Catholic’s tournament. The squad will meet Covenant Christian at 6 p.m. Friday, while Saturday, Patterson will play Houma Christian at 10 a.m. and Terrebonne at 2 p.m.
CCHS falls to Hannan
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles fell to defending Division II state runner-up Archbishop Hannan 10-2 in nondistrict action on the road Wednesday.
Hailey Skiles led Central Catholic with a 2-for-3 performance with a stolen base and a run scored. Other top Central Catholic offensive contributors were Emily Lipari, 1-for-3 with an RBI; and Abbie Scully, an RBI.
Olivia Black suffered the loss. In six innings, she surrendered 10 runs — 10 earned — on 13 hits with three walks, two hit batters and one strikeout.
Central Catholic will return to action this weekend in its tournament. The Lady Eagles will meet Ascension Catholic at 6 p.m. Friday before facing Terrebonne at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Lady Eagles will close the tournament with a 2 p.m. contest against Houma Christian.
