Wilton Joseph Autin Sr.
March 17, 1931 — Aug. 7, 2011
Wilton Joseph Autin Sr., a native of Little Calliou and resident of Amelia, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family.
Wilton grew up hunting, fishing, trapping, gator hunting and was a boat pilot. He was a joy to be around and loved telling stories of his life. Wilton Sr. was also “Paw Paw” to many other children who came in and out of his life. They loved him dearly. He taught many things to all who came into his life over the years, and for that he was well re-spected. Barbara, his wife of 60 wonderful years, preceded him in death earlier this year.
Wilton is survived by his two sons, Benny Autin of Brous-sard, and Wilton Autin Jr. and his wife Gerry of Amelia; one daughter, Lela McMichael and her husband Terry of Sul-pher; nine grandchildren, Benjy and Bruce Autin, Sabrina Voisin, Kendra Foret, George Boutwell, Amy Hampton, Renaee Pacheco, Dez VanHella and T.J. McMichael; 14 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Bailee, Micaela, Ashley, Harley, Madison, Faith, Bryce, George, Cierra, Miraih, R.J., Kallie and Erich; along with sisters and brothers-in-laws, Lucy and Johnny Tabor, Cleveland and Shirley Ohmer, Helen Faye and Alan Benoit, Loretta Tabor, Lona Pennison, and Geneva Ohmer and Huey Ohmer Sr.
Wilton was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Gertrude Autin; and a son, Philip Autin.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 9, 2011, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a service beginning at 8 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City.
