Whitney Bank beats Candy Fleet

Whitney Bank pounded out 19 hits in its 10-8 victory against Candy Fleet in 7-8-year-old action at Spinella Park in Morgan City Wednesday.

Three players finished with three hits apiece for Whitney Bank as both Kris Prejeant and Kale Beard finished 3-for-3, while Blake Peterson finished 3-for-4. Other Whitney Bank hitters included Jacob Blum, Cullen Adams and Bryson Dupuy, each 2-for-3; Gary Nicar, 2-for-2; Keegan Lodrigue, 1-for-3; and Karson Nelson, 1-for-4.

Dylan Reynolds led Candy Fleet offensively with a 3-for-3 performance, while Drew Miller and Dylan Cornes each finished 2-for-3. Other Candy Fleet hitters included Spencer Hebert, Peyton Rothel, Nicholas Black, Logan Haines and Richard Magann, all 1-for-3.

Rapid Trucking 6,

Charlie’s Lane 5

Rapid Trucking edged Charlie’s Lane, 6-5, in 9-and-10-year-old action Wednesday at Spinella Park.

Grant Stansbury earned the win, while Jackson Butler suffered the loss.

Reid Lodrigue and Thomas Davis each finished 1-for-2 to lead Rapid Trucking, while Josiah Boudreaux finished 1-for-3 for Charlie’s Lane. Kade Pichoff and Butler added 1-for-2 performances for Charlie’s Lane.

A.J. Dohmann 14,

Rapid Trucking 11

A.J. Dohmann topped Rapid Trucking, 14-11, in 7-8-year-old action Tuesday at Spinella Park.

Tate Matherne recorded a 3-for-3 performance, while Tate Aucoin, Dominic Case, Ty’Jae Vaughns and Justin Adkins all finished 2-for-3. Other A.J. Dohmann hitters included Gage Patureau, 2-for-2; Remington Begley, 1-for-2; and Caleb O’con, 1-for-3.

For Rapid Trucking, Dakota Gibson finished 3-for-3, while Tylon Mobley, Dayshon Pete, Hunter Bella, Ja’Quan Gray and Samar Thompkins each finished 2-for-3. Other A.J. Dohmann hitters included Randy Fontenot, Dylan Duval, Damondrick Blackburn and Elijha Brown, each 1-for-3.

Grizzaffi’s 10, Scully’s 8

Andy Gros pounded out three hits to help Grizzaffi’s beat Scully’s, 10-8, in 7-8-year-old action Tuesday at Spinella Park.

Gros finished 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Grizzaffi’s, while Ty Eschette and Drew Rock each finished 2-for-3. Other Grizzaffi’s hitters included Zane Griffin, Pat Carmichael, Joe Wade Jr., Ben Miller and Darren Bourgeois, each 1-for-2; and John Hymel, 1-for-3.

For Scully’s Ben Lewis, Ethan Blanchard, Hayden Landry and Ashton Mouton each finished 2-for-3. Keith Daigle finished 2-for-4, Deonte Stephens (1-for-3) and Kyen Hayles (1-for-4) all contributed offensively for Scully’s.

M C Bank 11,

Charlie’s Lanes 5

Dylan Tingle had two hits and drove in three as M C Bank defeated Charlie’s Lanes, 11-5, in City League action at Spinella Park on May 14.

Tingle finished 2-for-2 and also scored a run, while William LaRocca finished 2-for-2 with two runs. Jeramie Armond added two runs for the winners.

Braxton Fontenot earned the win, while Kade Pichoff suffered the loss for Charlie’s Lanes.

Pichoff led the Charlie’s Lanes hitters with a 1-for-2 performance with a double, two RBIs and a run, while Joseph Gilmore, Zachary, Bennett and Josiah Boudreaux each recorded a hit and scored a run.

M C Rentals 12,

Ocean Marine 2

Ethan Boagni struck out seven on the mound and recorded two hits at the plate as Morgan City Rentals routed Ocean Marine, 12-2, in City League play May 14 at Spinella Park.

Boagni earned the win as he allowed two runs in three innings of work.

At the plate, he was 2-for-2 with two runs.

Ryan Miller led Morgan City Rentals with a 3-for-3 performance with two runs, while Derwin Canty finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Gilbert Johnson suffered the loss for Ocean Marine.

Luke Freia finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run for Ocean Marine, while Alex Boudreaux added a hit and a run.

Candy Fleet 13,

Scully’s 7

Nicholas Black finished 4-for-4, and Candy Fleet defeated Scully’s, 13-7, May 9 in 7-8-year-old action at Spinella Park in Morgan City.

Carsyn Meador, Dylan Cornes, Drake Charpentier and Logan Haines each finished 3-for-4, and Spencer Hebert finished 2-for-5 in the victory.

In the losing effort, Ben Lewis finished 3-for-3, while Deonte Stephens and Hayden Landry each finished 2-for-3. For Scully’s, Ashton Mouton, 2-for-2; William Skinner and Cameron LaCoste, each 1-for-2; and Malachi Jones and Robbie Boudreaux, each 1-for-3.

Rapid Trucking 15,

Grizzaffi’s 3

Rapid Trucking pounded out 17 hits in a 15-3 thrashing of Grizzaffi’s in 7-8-year-old action May 9 at Spinella Park.

Randy Fontenot led Rapid Trucking with a 3-for-3 performance, while Tylon Mobley, Dayshon Pete, Dakota Gibson, Ja’Quan Gray and Dylan Duval all finished 2-for-2. Other Rapid Trucking hitters included Hunter Bella, Damondrick Blackburn, Samar Thompkins and Elijha Brown, all 1-for-2.

For Grizzaffi’s Ty Eschette, Drew Rock and Andy Gros all finished 1-for-2.

Dragna Bros. 5,

Skipper’s 4

Dragna Bros. edged Skippers, 5-4, in Dixie League action Wednesday at Complex Park in Morgan City.

Hunter Mouton led Dragna with a 2-for-2 performance and an RBI, while Dominique Skipper added a 1-for-2 outing with an RBI. Other Dragna hitters included Alex Brocato, 1-for-2, a double and a run; Tanner Theriot, 1-for-3; and Cameron Aucoin and Andrea Dragna, a run apiece.

On the mound, Bryce Grizzaffi earned the win as he tossed a no-hitter in his three-inning outing. He surrendered two runs, two walks and struck out eight.

In two innings of relief, Brocato allowed two runs on a hit. He walked four and struck out five.

For Skippers, Thomas Mire finished 1-for-2 with a home run and three runs.

Hammers 7,

Morgan City Rentals 4

Adam Dupuis recorded a triple and drove in two as the Hammers defeated Morgan City Rentals, 7-4, in Dixie League action Wednesday at Complex Park.

Dupuis finished 2-for-3 and scored a run, while Oscar Martinez finished 2-for-3 for Hammers. Other Hammers’ hitters included Tyler Longman, 1-for-3, a double and a run; Maurice Martin, 1-for-3, two runs; Noah Stephens, 1-for-3; Cade Minton, an RBI and a run; and Ashton Martinez, an RBI.

In four innings of work on the mound, Longman surrendered no runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out two.

For M C Rentals, Kimonia Hurts was tops with a 1-for-2 performance with a double, a run and two RBIs, while Josh Sanford, Cooper LeBlanc, Greg Landry and Jaybian Hartley each finished 1-for-2, with Sanford adding a run. Brooks Thomas finished 1-for-3 and Nick Pederson scored a run for M C Rentals.

Taco Bell 11,

Ocean Marine 10

Taco Bell edged Ocean Marine, 11-10, in City League action Tuesday at Complex Park.

Brett Morell led Taco Bell with a 2-for-3 performance with a triple, two RBIs and a run, while Akaya Poole also finished 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI. Other Taco Bell hitters included Austin Deshotel, 1-for-1, a double and two RBIs; Philip Guarisco, 1-for-2, a double, an RBI and two runs; Hugh Hamer, 1-for-2, two runs and an RBI; Dale Turner, 1-for-3; and Kytrell Grogan, Amarea Christopher and Gunner Theriot, each a run.

For Ocean Marine, Luke Freia led the offense with a 1-for-2 outing with a double, three RBIs and a run, while Alex Boudreaux finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run. Other Ocean Marine hitters included Taylor Blanchard, 1-for-1, a double, an RBI and two runs; and Gilbert Johnson, Shea Gaspard, Chance Randle and Randy Bourgeois, each with a run.

Michael-Anthony Hill tossed a one hitter and drove in two as Morgan City Rentals defeated Rapid Trucking, 11-1, in City League action Tuesday at Complex Park.

Hill, who earned the win, allowed no runs, struck out nine and walked one in four innings of work.

At the plate, he also scored two runs.

Other Morgan City Rentals’ hitters included Jordan Percle, 1-for-2, with two RBIs; Luke Barbier and Matt Mire, each 1-for-2, two runs and an RBI; Ethan Boagni, an RBI and a run; Ryan Miller, 1-for-2, two runs; and Derwin Canty and Landon Acosta, a run apiece.

For Rapid Trucking, Kurvante Webb finished 1-for-2, while Tylan Bennett scored a run.

Behind the pitching performance of Gilbert Johnson, Ocean Marine edged M C Bank, 10-9, in City League action at Complex Park on May 10.

Johnson, who earned the win, struck out 12 in five innings of work. He also walked one.

At the plate, he, along with Tony Griffin, Jhai Robinson and Chance Randle, all scored two runs.

Luke Freia added an RBI for Ocean Marine, while Alex Boudreaux and Taylor Blanchard each scored a run.

For M C Bank, William LaRocca led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance with two doubles, an RBI and a run, while Braxton Fontenot and Peyton Grizzaffi each finished 2-for-3. Fontenot added two RBIs and a run and Grizzaffi added a run.

Other M C Bank hitters included Kolin Crappell, 1-for-2, a double and two RBIs; Leroy Byers, 1-for-2, a double, an RBI and a run; Dylan Tingle and Ethan Blanco, each 1-for-3, with a run; and Jeramie Armond, 1-for-2.

Morgan City Rentals eased past Charlie’s Lanes, 9-1, in City League action May 10 at Complex Park.

Michael-Anthony Hill led MC Rentals with a 1-for-2 performance with a double, two RBIs and two runs, while Luke Barbier finished 1-for-2 with three runs.

Other Morgan City Rentals’ hitters included J.C. Hebert, 1-for-2, with a run; Ethan Boagni, an RBI and a run; and Ryan Miller, three runs.

On the mound, Barbier surrendered no runs on two hits and struck out seven in three innings. He also walked two.

For Charlie’s, Zachary Bennett finished 1-for-2, while Treyvon Batiste finished 1-for-1, and Devin Hidalgo added a run.
