West St. Mary, Hanson take to road; FSHS Hornets host Opelousas Tigers

After posting victories in the season openers, the West St. Mary Wolfpack and the Hanson Memorial Tigers will take to the road Friday while the Franklin Senior High School Hornets will play host to a nemises.

The West St. Mary Wolfpack (1-0) will make the journey to play the Northwest Raiders (1-0) on Friday.

Hanson Memorial (1-0) will travel to face Catholic High of Point Coupee on Friday.

Franklin High will play host to the Opelousas Tigers on Friday at 7 p.m. at J. C. Dry Stadium.


Fresh from its second opening victory over the Franklin Hornets, the West St. Mary Wolfpack will journey to Opelousas to face Northwest on Friday.

West St. Mary put together a 34-0 victory over Franklin last week on a wet field after Tropical Storm Lee sent heavy rain throughout the area.

West St. Mary struck early and often last week, benefiting from early touchdowns from Glenn Marsh along with a 97-yard TD from quarterback Tre’vell Dixon en route to topping the FSHS Hornets.

Defensive stalwarts Jerald Hawkins, Robert Martin and Jontrey Tillman led the Wolfpack to the opening season victory.

West St. Mary will travel to face Northwest on Friday at 7 p.m.


The Hanson Memorial Tigers will travel to face off against Catholic of Point Coupee in the second week of the season.

Hanson Memorial (1-0) rallied past Ascension Catholic last Friday on a wet McCloskey Field.

The Tigers rode the stellar performances of Kole Fluke and Beau Ancona to a come-from-behind victory over Ascension Catholic last week.

Hanson will travel to battle Catholic of Point Coupee on Friday at 7 p.m.


Franklin will renew its long time battle with Opelousas from the days when both teams played in 4A on Friday at J. C. Dry Stadium.

Franklin enters Friday’s home opener looking to regroup after falling to the West St. Mary Wolfpack 34-0 last week.

Franklin’s Zachary Stewart led the Hornets in rushing with six carries for 50 yards last week.

Franklin will play host to Opelousas on Friday at 7 p.m. at J. C. Dry Stadium.
