Two of three Swampland games to be played

Staff Report

Two of three local Swampland League baseball games will go on as scheduled today

despite a deluge of rain that hit the Tri-City area Sunday.

The third contest was a victim of the weather.

While Berwick-based Taco Bell (4-1) will host Robichaux Ford (Vandebilt Catholic) and

Central Catholic-based Halimar Shipyard (4-2) will host Sanders Holdings (Assumption), Patterson’s home game against Golden Motors Bayou Boys (South Lafourche) has been rained out. No make up date has been set yet.

Taco Bell’s games will begin with junior varsity play at 5 p.m. and varsity play at

7 p.m., while Halimar Shipyard will begin junior varsity play at 3 p.m. with varsity

play to follow at 5 p.m.

Halimar-Skipper’s

location change

Halimar Shipyard’s home contest against Skipper’s Sporting Goods (Morgan City) Tuesday has been moved from Halimar’s home field at the Amelia Recreation Center to Tiger Diamond in Morgan City.

The change of venue means start times also will change from the 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. for junior varsity and varsity play, respectively, to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. for junior varsity and varsity play.
