Tri-City Helping Hearts Foundation plans gospel concert
The Tri-City Helping Hearts Foundation will hold a benefit gospel banquet at 4 p.m. Saturday. The banquet will be held at the St. Mary Senior Citizens Center at 4014 Chennault St. in Morgan City.
The guest speaker will be Gloria Moultrie, vice chancellor of Southern University of New Orleans.
Moultrie is in charge of community outreach and university advancement at Southern University of New Orleans.
She was appointed by New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu to serve on the Office of Inspector General Quality Assurance Review Advisory Committee.
The Tri-City Helping Hearts Foundation is a non-profit organization aimed at assisting citizens needing financial assistance for the burying of a loved one, stated Herman Hartman, president of Tri-City Helping Hearts Foundation.
Proceeds from the banquet help fulfill the organization’s purpose, Hartman stated.
Entertainment will be provided by musician Marcus Davis of Jennings.
The foundation is looking for sponsors to underwrite the cost of the charitable event, Hartman stated. Businesses or organizations are asked to sponsor the event with a $300 donation, which will include six tickets to the banquet, he stated.
