Templeton leaving Franklin Foundation
Parker Templeton, chief executive officer of Franklin Foundation Hospital since May 2009, has announced his resignation effective Sept. 6.
Templeton has accepted the position of CEO at Iberia Medical Center in his hometown of New Iberia.
“This has been an extremely difficult decision for me because of my love for Franklin Foundation Hospital,” Templeton said. “I have been fortunate to have worked in several great organizations, but FFH truly is a special place in terms of the devotion and pride that is so evident throughout the organization. It has been an honor to work with a team of outstanding and dedicated professionals who have made such positive differences in the lives of those we serve.”
Under Parker’s leadership, FFH has improved its overall patient satisfaction scores from the 41st percentile to the 97th percentile. FFH has also received several awards including the Becker’s Hospital Review Best Places to Work and Studer Group’s Excellence in Patient Care.
“There is never an ideal time to leave a successful organization, but FFH is well-positioned to continue providing high quality, patient-centered care to the residents of St. Mary Parish” Templeton said.
QHR, the hospital’s management company, will immediately begin a nationwide search for a new permanent CEO and an interim will be named by the end of the month.
“On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we wish Parker the best in this new endeavor and appreciate his four-plus years of leadership and dedication,” said Allan Von Werder, Hospital Service District 1 board chairman.
