Teens arrested after residence entered in Patterson area

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:

—Shundren Johnson, 17, of Cherry Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:03 p.m. Tuesday for criminal trespass and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

—Dylan A. Guillory, 17, of Taft Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:03 p.m. Tuesday for criminal trespass and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

A deputy responded to a complaint of two males breaking into a residence on La. 182 in the Patterson area. Using descriptions provided by the complainant, the deputy located the males who were riding bicycles near Patterson High School. The males were identified as Johnson and Guillory. During the investigation, the deputy determined that Johnson and Guillory had entered a home without the permission of the resident. Both were taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.

—Roger Garcia, 49, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Tuesday for domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace intoxicated, four counts of resisting an officer and two counts of battery on a police officer.

—Tara Garcia, 44, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:32 p.m. Tuesday for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responded to a report of a man and woman fighting inside a vehicle on Moon Road in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Roger Garcia and Tara Garcia were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Just prior to this incident, deputies responded to a request to remove Roger Garcia from a bar in the Bayou Vista area. The deputy detected the strong smell of alcohol on Roger Garcia, Hebert stated. Both were taken to the parish jail and held.

Upon arrival at the jail, Roger Garcia refused to exit the police unit and proceeded to spit repeatedly in the vehicle and on deputies, according to Hebert. No bail is set at this time for Roger Garcia or Tara Garcia.

—Jereith Callery, 26, of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday for illegal possession of stolen things. Looking for a person regarding an unrelated matter, a deputy checked the license plate of a vehicle parked at an apartment complex on Jones Street. The deputy learned that earlier in the day, the license plate had been reported to Morgan City police as having been stolen. Through further investigation, the deputy learned that the vehicle that the stolen plate belonged to Callery. Callery was taken to the parish jail and held. He was released on a $1,000 bail.

—Byron Williams, 36, of Verdun Lane in Verdunville, was arrested at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday for possession of schedule III (Lortab) with intent to distribute, possession of a legend drug (Flexeril), and general speed law. Narcotics detectives were patrolling the Verdunville area when they observed a vehicle speeding on Verdun Lane and conducted a traffic stop. Detectives made contact with the driver identified as Williams. During the investigation, detectives learned that Williams was selling prescription medication, Hebert stated. Williams was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.

Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:

—Kristyn L. Parker, 22, of Susan Court in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for a probation violation. The Morgan City Police Department was dispatched to the area of Bowman Street and Federal Avenue regarding a woman standing in the roadway. Officers arrived and came into contact with Parker. It was discovered that she was wanted on an outstanding warrant. She was taken to the Morgan City Jail and was released after posting $1,000 cash bail.

—Arthur Joseph Cole, 55, of Solar Apartments in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear for theft of utility service and criminal damage to property. An officer came into contact with Cole at a La. 182 convenience store. It was discovered that Cole was a wanted person for the 16th Judicial District Court. Cole was taken to the Morgan City Jail where he remains with bail set at $500.

—Brandon Travis Kent, 26, of Short Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:08 a.m. Sunday for a probation violation for failure to appear for contempt of court and failure to appear for simple battery domestic. Officers patrolling the area near Greenwood Street and Victor II Boulevard came into contact with Kent while attempting to locate a suspect in a separate complaint, Crouch stated. It was discovered that Kent was a wanted person by the Morgan City Police Department. He was taken to the Morgan City Jail where he remains.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
