Techeland Arts Council sets spring encore performance of ‘No Hitchin’
If you happened to have missed the premier performances of Techeland Arts Council’s production “No Hitchin’” last October, there will be another opportunity to see these unique stories brought to the live stage.
The last performances of this season’s production entitled “What A Ride!” will be held again at the Teche Theater for the Performing Arts on Main Street in Franklin March 16-18. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased in Franklin at Fad’s Trophy & Gift Shop on Main Street and Cashway Pharmacy on Hospital Avenue, as well as at the Frame Shop on Front Street in Morgan City. They can also be purchased from E-tix at www.techeland.com. Tickets are $15 and reserved by section.
The vignettes cover all the cultures in the local area and take the watcher through a wide range of emotions. There are stories about the power of a chicken; a terrible tragedy; baptisms in the Bayou Teche; moments of regret; the letting go of a promising career for love; and a unique local wedding. Audience members might even be quite surprised to hear a familiar name in one of the stories.
“The October performances sold-out three nights,” said Judith Allain, Techeland president. “So get your tickets early because when the tickets are gone, they’re gone, and so are the stories!”
