Sweet Tarts edge Red Hots

MORGAN CITY — Sweet Tarts edged Red Hots 4-3 in 9- and 10-year-old youth softball action in Morgan City Tuesday.

Offensive leaders for Sweet Tarts were Madeline Albritton and Emily Colgin, each with two walks and a run.

Sariayah Bourgeois led Red Hots with two walks and a run, while Madison Bonner and Catherine Autrey each contributed two walks.

Also Tuesday, Borden’s blanked Reese’s 9-0 in 7- and 8-year-old action.

Olivia Black and Sarah David each finished 3-for-3 for Borden’s with two runs apiece, while Presley Bruni was 2-for-3 with two runs.

Kailanni Francois led Reese’s with a 2-for-2 performance.

On Monday at Shaw Park, Candy Fleet slipped by Borden’s 1-0 in 7- and 8-year-old action.

Katelyn Breaux finished 1-for-2 with an RBI for Candy Fleet, while Kamryn Olivier also finished 1-for-2 and scored a run.

Presley Bruni finished 3-for-3 for Borden’s, while Sarah David and Olivia Black each turned in a 2-for-3 performance.

In 9- and 10-year-old action, Snickers defeated Sweet Tarts 8-5.

Brynn Stephens and Haylie Crappell each walked twice and scored two runs apiece for Snickers.

Madalyn Hebert had a huge game for Sweet Tarts with a 2-for-2 performance with two triples and two RBIs, while Julianna Hernandez also was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate.
