Student accused of exposing himself at Patterson High School

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office made the following arrests over the weekend, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:

—Earline Ann Sam, 31, of Poncio Street, Morgan City, was arrested at her residence at 9:29 a.m. Friday on two warrants for failure to appear for issuing worthless checks. Sam was located at her residence on the warrants. She was taken to the parish jail. No bail had been set at time of press release.

—Robert Taylor, 28, of Mars Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:01 p.m. Friday on La. 182 in Bayou Vista for theft. The victim told the deputy that his backpack and cell phone were stolen. The investigating deputy developed Taylor, an employee of Tom’s Chip, as a suspect. The deputy received consent to search the delivery truck Taylor was driving and located the backpack and cell phone, the report stated. Taylor remains jailed with bail not yet set.

—A 15-year-old male was arrested at 3:09 p.m. Friday at Patterson High School for obscenity. He is alleged to have exposed himself in a classroom in the presence of a female teacher. He was taken to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City for booking and was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

—Kenneth Frank Smith, 53, of Pine Street, Franklin, was arrested at 10:02 a.m. Saturday at the Amelia Recreation Center for disturbing the peace intoxicated and remaining where forbidden. A worker at the disaster food stamp assistance program contacted a deputy because Smith refused to leave. The deputy smelled the strong odor of alcohol on Smith’s breath and person, the report stated. He remains jailed with a $750 bail.

—Severino Ruiz Rodriguez, 40, of Bailey Lane, Amelia, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. Saturday on Lake Palourde Road for operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Ruiz remains jailed with bail not yet set.

—Gerald Price Jr., 42, of General McArthur Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 11:56 p.m. Sunday on Everett Street in Morgan City on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. He was released on a summons to appear in court.

—Therese Daigle, 64, of Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:34 p.m. Sunday at Wal-Mart in Bayou Vista for theft. Store security said that Daigle was observed taking items from the shelves and placing them in bags with merchandise that had already been paid for, the report stated. She was released on a summons to appear in court.

The Berwick Police Department made the following arrests over the weekend, according to Chief James Richard:

—Dennis Richard, 17, Chennault Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 7:25 p.m. Friday at Berwick High School football stadium for fighting. He was released on $150 bail.

—A 16-year-old male was arrested in the same fight with Richard. He was released to his parents pending juvenile court action.

—DeaZhone Baker, 18, of Ninth Street, Franklin, was arrested at 9:36 a.m. Saturday at Blum Boulevard in Berwick for aggravated assault, aggravated criminal damage to property, criminal trespassing, resisting an officer and an outstanding warrant from the City of Franklin for failure-to-appear. She remains jailed with bail not yet set.

The Patterson Police Department made the following arrests over the weekend, according to Chief Patrick M. LaSalle:

—Kevin Johnson, 48, of N Street, Patterson, was arrested on U.S. 90 East at 12:10 a.m. Saturday for driving under suspension, headlights out, no insurance on vehicle and no license plate. He was released on $802 bail.

—Darrick Onell Singleton, 37, of Louisiana Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:48 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 90 East for speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone and for driving under suspension. He was released on $466 bail.

—Mark Joseph Derouex, 27, of Leo Drive, Patterson, was arrested at 9:07 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 90 near Granaway’s for stop sign violation and driving under suspension. He was released on $466 bail.

The Morgan City Police Department reports the following arrests over the weekend, according to Assistant Chief Glenn Blanco:

—Tabatha Billiot, 26, of Leona Drive, Lydia, was arrested at her residence at 5:45 p.m. Friday on warrants for failure to appear in court for trial, failure to appear for contempt of court, failure to appear to pay fine for disturbing the peace and failure to pay fine for resisting an officer. The Jeanerette Police Department located and arrested her, booked her on Morgan City warrants and later transported her to Morgan City where she was booked and released after posting bail.

—Bryan Bradford, 24, of Short Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 6:28 a.m. Friday at Danny’s Fried Chicken on a warrant for theft over $500. Detectives were investigating an employee theft from Danny’s Fried Chicken. The employee, identified as Bradford, would take customer orders, void the transaction on the register and then pocket the money, the report stated. The incidents occurred between June 10 and July 19. The total amount of the theft was $522.15. He was released on $10,000 bail.

—Kahnie Gaudet, 41, of Morgan City, was arrested at 8:59 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. She was found sleeping in the bushes and intoxicated at the Morgan City Motel. She remains jailed with $292 bond.

—Luis Sanche Colón, 23, of Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, was arrested at 3:39 a.m. Sunday for simple battery after a fight at the Morgan City Motel. He remains jailed with $692 bail.

—Richard Hawkings, 37, of Birch Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 2:03 a.m. today for domestic abuse battery. He is alleged to have struck his girlfriend in the eye. He remains jailed with bail not yet set.
