State police investigate alleged Baldwin tasing
Louisiana State Police are reportedly investigating an alleged tasing death in Baldwin Thursday evening.
Very few details are available, but reports indicate that the deceased person, Damon Abraham of Baldwin, was tased by police at or near police headquarters.
Abraham was held at police headquarters after the tasing but then began showing unspecified physical distress, Mayor Wayne Breaux said. Acadian Ambulance transported him to Franklin Foundation Hospital where he was stabilized and sent on to a Lafayette hospital. He reportedly died en route.
An officer was placed on administrative leave while the investigation takes place.
No other details were available this morning.
