St. Mary Parish sheriff reports 3 drug arrests
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests overnight, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:
—Ray Chaisson Jr., 21, of Francis Street, Berwick, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday on Gilmore Drive in Berwick for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia and abuse of toxic vapors.
Chaisson was stopped in Berwick by narcotics division agents who observed the vehicle with a cracked windshield obstructing the driver’s view and an improperly displayed license plate. He was released on a summons to appear in court in December.
—Joshua Pellissier, 26, of Aucoin Street, Amelia, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday on Lakeview Drive in Amelia on warrants for distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
Narcotics division agents were patrolling the Amelia area when they observed Pellissier, who was wanted on warrants stemming from an investigation in which Pellissier was found to be in possession of marijuana at a residence with a small child present, the report stated. He remains jailed with bail not set.
—Edward Henderson, 54, of Utah Street, Berwick, was arrested at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday on James Street in Morgan City on a warrant for possession of marijuana and license plate light required. He was jailed and later released on a $2,250 bail.
—A female juvenile, 14, was arrested at 4:01 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for simple battery. The juvenile, accompanied by a guardian, turned herself in on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a battery that occurred at Central Park in Bayou Vista. She was released to her guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Three people, including two juveniles, were arrested for a disturbance at 4:18 p.m. Tuesday on Jordin Lane in Bayou Vista. The adult, Brandi Rachael Jones, 32, was arrested for disturbing the peace by language.
Jones is alleged to have yelled profanities at the complainant following a fight and was jailed and released on a $250 bail.
The Berwick Police Department and the Patterson Police Department reported there were no arrests overnight.
