St. Mary Parish Schools raise money for St. Mary Council on Aging

Funds raised by students in St. Mary Parish Schools during the Students for Seniors Jean Day Project resulted in a donation of more than $4,000 to St. Mary Council on Aging. St. Mary Council on Aging serves 1,000 clients across the parish, however, there is a waiting list for services. Community support helps provide services that suffer due to funding cuts at the federal and state levels. On hand for the presentation were, front row, Mary Frances Vincent and Reise Ratcliff, Wyandotte Elementary students. Back row from left are Suzanne Bergeron, Patterson Junior High School principal; Lisa Russo, Berwick Junior High School teacher; Donald Aguillard, superintendent of schools; Cathy Broussard, St. Mary Council on Aging board chairperson; Beverly Domengeaux, St. Mary Council on Aging executive director; and Ann Koen, Wyandotte Elementary School teacher.
