St. Mary Parish deputies arrest Baldwin woman after tip from Berwick police

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 72-hour reporting period the deputies responded to 129 complaints and made the following arrests:

—Denise McBride, 43, of Lockley Street in Baldwin, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of aggravated battery. A deputy was notified by Berwick police of a subject who was wanted on a warrant. McBride was located at her residence on the warrant and released on a summons to appear in court Tuesday.

—Jalon Jarell Span, 18, of Cherry Street in Patterson, was arrested for simple criminal damage to property. Span is alleged to have sprayed painted graffiti on a trailer on Murphy Street in the Patterson area. He was jailed and released on a $1,000 bond. This is the second arrest made in the case. On March 28, Jayquan Marquelle Key was also arrested as a result of the investigation.

—Daniel Ryan Blanc, 29, of Karen Drive in Morgan City, was arrested on a warrant for unauthorized use of an access card and on an additional second count of unauthorized use of an access card.

The sheriff’s office received a complaint of a stolen credit card March 26. Blanc is alleged to have made two unauthorized charges at the Bayou Vista Wal-Mart on the card. The two card purchases totaled several hundred dollars according to the report. Video surveillance from the store was used during the investigation, which is ongoing. Blanc was jailed and released on a $2,000 bail.

—Nicholas Daigle, 18, of Landry Street in Patterson, was arrested for theft of goods and probation violation. Security personnel from the Walmart in Bayou Vista allege that Daigle was observed taking an item from a display and removing it from the packaging. He was jailed with no bail set.

—Bobby Seeley, 41, of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance Saturday morning at an address on La. 182 in Amelia. Upon arrival, a deputy learned of the warrant for Seeley’s arrest. He was jailed with no bail set.

—Shane Todd, 37, of Willow Bend in Patterson, was arrested for animals at large. A deputy responding to an animal complaint on Willow Bend observed a pit bull without a leash that allegedly belongs to Todd. He was issued a summons to appear in court July 5.

—Lowanda Ruffin, 28, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. She was released on a summons to appear in court July 5.

—Kristy Kaye Harmon, 38, of Penn Road Franklin, was arrested for possession of marijuana third offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a complaint of a subject waving a gun at a residence on Bodin Road during an apparent verbal argument in Ashton. Harmon gave the deputy consent to search her vehicle where marijuana was said to be located, the report stated. She was jailed and released on a $20,000 bail.

—Donnie Brown, 55, of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks and issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Brown on the warrant at his residence. He was jailed and released on a $2,500 bail.

—Michael Wayne Womack, 33, of Neptune Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested for simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery on Neptune Street. A deputy said that Womack and a female subject were engaged in a verbal argument when Womack pushed the female victim to the ground. Womack was jailed and released on a $500 bail.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reports the following arrests over the weekend;

—Sean Finister, 24 of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested for second-degree battery-domestic abuse. Berwick police responded to a 911 call Sunday about a disturbance involving abuse at the residence. When police arrived they said they observed Finister abuse a 25-year-old woman who they say had obvious physical signs of abuse. Richard said the woman was taken by Acadian Ambulance to Teche Regional Medical Center with injuries. Finister remains jailed without bail set.

—Rebecca Corbette, 36, of Pierre Part, was arrested for disturbing the peace-intoxicated. She is alleged to have attempted to enter an inhabited Utah Street residence in Berwick while intoxicated. She was jailed and released on a $150 bail.

—Andrew Webb, 33, of League City, Texas, was arrested for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, misuse of toxic vapors and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed and released on a $2,500 bail.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reports that his department arrested two teenagers in a Wise Street burglary that occurred Thursday in which the victim was allegedly beaten with a gun and robbed of property including $600 in cash.

—Troy Richardson, 19, of St. Mary Street in Patterson, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault and a single count of aggravated burglary.

—Wanya Francis, 18, of Live Oak Street in Patterson, was charged as an accessory to each of the charges.

Richardson is accused of striking a male victim in the face and head area with a long chrome-looking revolver at a Wise Street residence while demanding money. He is alleged to have attempted to tape the victim’s mouth shut with duct tape.

Also stolen in the incident were a pair of diamond earrings and an iPhone.

Both men were jailed with no bail set.

The investigation is ongoing with further arrests possible.

—Leslie Johnson, 18, of Dangerfield Lane in Patterson, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana-first offense and possession of stolen property (two guns). He was jailed with no bail set.

Lt. James F. Blair reports the following persons were arrested by the Morgan City police:

—Kristyn L. Parker, 21, of Morgan City, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for allowing dogs to roam and on an additional charge of possession of marijuana. She was released on bail.

—Russel J. Walker, 29, of Morgan City, was arrested and charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, resisting an officer, possession of a Schedule I CDS (marijuana) and possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS (cocaine). Morgan City police say they located Walker when they were summoned to the Brownell Homes area in regard to suspected narcotics activity.

Walker is said to have attempted to flee and entered into an apartment without the owner’s permission in Brownell Homes. He was apprehended by police in the apartment. Police said Walker possessed a small amount of suspected marijuana. Additionally he is accused of attempting to discard a bag which contained suspected crack cocaine that was packaged for sale during the pursuit. He was jailed with no bail set.

—Jordan A. Steele, 33, of Morgan City, was arrested and charged with appearing in an intoxicated condition, possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Morgan City police responded to a complaint of a disturbance on Lizabeth Drive in Morgan City.

Steele was accused of causing a disturbance at the residence while in an intoxicated condition and attempting to fight with others at the residence. He is accused of being in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana and a container used to transport and store marijuana. He was released after posting bond.

—Jesse Martin Delahoussaye, 36, of Patterson, was arrested and charged with remaining where forbidden and disturbing the peace. Morgan City police responded to a complaint of a disturbance at the Holiday Inn and Legend’s Bar. Witnesses were said to have pointed out Delahoussaye as the person causing a disturbance, using profanities and refusing to leave the bar when asked. He was jailed and released after posting a cash bail.

—Robin Gilbert, 53, of Morgan City, was arrested and charged with simple burglary and an outstanding warrant for failure to pay restitution. An officer patrolling the downtown wharf area observed a bicycle which appeared to be parked near a houseboat docked at that location. The officer became suspicious and began to check the area and located Gilbert, who allegedly removed items from inside. Gilbert remains jailed.

—Michael Dwayne Thompson, 18, of Morgan City, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for simple battery. Police received a complaint in regards to a subject riding a four wheeler in the area of Pecan Street and located Thompson. He was released after posting bail.

—Salud C. Ortiz, 29, of Amelia, was arrested on charges of no driver’s license, possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, no insurance and littering. An officer responded to a vehicle driving reckless. Officers located a vehicle being driven by Ortiz in the area of La. 70. Police said when they contacted Ortiz, he began to throw beer cans from his vehicle onto the ground. He was released after posting bail.
