Patterson 10U All-Stars take Babe Ruth state title

The Patterson 10U All-Stars were perfect at the Louisiana Babe Ruth League State Tournament, winning the 10U title Saturday in Kenner after finishing the tournament with a 5-0 mark.

Morgan City Double AA All-Stars rout Patterson, 14-3

Morgan City’s Conner Daigle gets around Patterson’s Billy Jack Caldwell to advance to second base safely during Morgan City’s 14-3 victory at the Double AA (7-8-year-old) District 3 Tournament at Caffery Park in Franklin Thursday, while Patterson’s Zeph Brinlee covers second base. Area play will continue this weekend when St. Mary Central takes on Thibodaux at 5:30 p.m., followed by Patterson meeting Franklin at 6:45 p.m. On Saturday, St. Mary Central will face Morgan City at 10 a.m., followed by Thibodaux and Patterson at 11:30 a.m. Franklin will face Morgan City at 1 p.m. and the tournament will conclude with St. Mary Central meeting Patterson at 2:30 p.m. Look for a recap of the tournament’s games in Monday’s newspaper. MC, Franklin claim tourney wins again

FRANKLIN ALL-STAR TREY EDMOND stands on second base after lining a single in Thursday’s District 3-AA Tournament at Caffery Park. Action will continue tonight with two game before closing out on Saturday with four contests.

Morgan City and Franklin claimed victories in the second night of action in the 2016 District 3 AA 8-year-old Pitching Machine Tournament Thursday at Caffery Park.

Taco Bell tops Halimar, 4-1

Taco Bell’s Grant Oubre lays down a bunt during earlier season action against Skipper’s for Sports. Oubre tossed a one-hitter in six innings of work to earn the win in a 4-1 victory against Halimar Shipyard Wednesday. Taco Bell’s game with TrimCo Millwork & Supply today has been canceled.
