Central Catholic High School’s annual baseball tournament in Amelia was washed out this weekend. While the Eagles attempted to host games Friday and then Saturday, they could never get anything going. The tournament was cancelled just before noon Saturday. Above is the field at the Amelia Recreation Center where Central Catholic plays Saturday afternoon. The Eagles will return to action Tuesday with a game that was added against Patterson. The 6 p.m. contest will be played in Amelia. Patterson, the other local team scheduled to
play in Central Catholic’s tournament, will return to the field today when it travels to face Buckeye at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field in a 6 p.m. contest. (The Daily Review/Geoff Stoute)
The Bayou Horseshoe Pitchers Association is seeking new members.
