Ellender eases past Morgan City, 47-7, in district action

Morgan City High School quarterback Alex Brocato led the Tigers during Friday's 47-7 loss to Ellender. Brocato had 94 total yards (51 rushing and 43 passing). Above, he attempts a pass during earlier district action against South Lafourche. Morgan City will return to action Friday when it hosts South Terrebonne in district play.

CCHS defeats Vermilion Catholic, 28-21

Central Catholic's Chris Singleton carries the football Friday against Vermilion Catholic, while teammate Michael-Anthony Hill blocks during the Eagles' 28-21 victory. Central Catholic will be on the road again Friday when it makes the short trip to Franklin to take on District 7-1A rival Hanson Memorial.

ABBEVILLE — Two well-timed penalties and a fumble recovery helped the Central Catholic Eagles hang on to a 28-21 win Friday against District 8-1A rival Vermilion Catholic.

'Jacks net 1st win behind dominant 2nd half

Patterson High School's Dajon Richard carries the football during Friday's District 8-3A contest with E.D. White. Richard had 13 carries for 105 yards and three touchdowns, and Patterson won its first game of the season with a 38-14 victory at Patterson. The Lumberjacks will try to make it two straight when they hit the road Friday for district action at Erath.

Patterson scored 28 unanswered second-half points to stun E.D. White, 38-14, Friday in District 8-3A play at the Sugar Dome at Patterson.
It was the Lumberjacks’ first win this season.
