School employee booked for theft
The son of a St. Mary Parish School Board member was arrested for stealing from the school system.
Edward Payton III, 49, of La. 182 in Baldwin was arrested Thursday at 10:52 a.m. on a warrant for misdemeanor theft.
Payton sold two string trimmers, owned by the school board, to another individual. They were valued at $200.
The suspect was located at his residence, placed under arrest on a warrant and issued a summons to appear in court.
