Police Reports 2-05-13
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests from the past 24-hour reporting period:
Latasha Lynette Thomas, 25, of 606 Sixth St., Morgan City, was arrested Monday at 12:10 p.m. on warrants for probation violation on a charge of issuing worthless checks and on a warrant from St. Martin Parish for failure to appear on charges of speeding and driving under suspension. Bond had not been set as of this morning.
A juvenile male, 15, of Verdunville, was arrested Monday at 4:06 p.m. at the SMPSO in Franklin on a warrant charging him with disturbing the peace by fighting and simple battery. He was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Lance Tyler Ashmore, 20, of 108 Chester Bowls Street, Morgan City, was arrested Monday at 9:30 p.m. on Universe Road in Bayou Vista, on charges of theft, simple criminal damage to property and resisting an officer. Bond was set at $250.
Narcotics Division agents arrested Patricia Morris, 52, of 723 Versen Lane, Lot 5, Berwick, Monday at 3:26 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Joseph Thomas Caprito III, 18, of Oakwood Drive, Franklin, was arrested today at 4:55 a.m. on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and released on a $1,500 bond.
A 12-year-old male was arrested Monday on a charge of disturbing the peace by fighting and released to a legal guardian, pending possible juvenile court proceedings.
McGuire also reported recent thefts of copper tubing from vacant rental houses and asked citizens to notify the department of any suspicious activity, especially at night, by calling 337-828-1716.
