A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 25, 2013, at 1 p.m., at the Church of the Assumption for Mrs. Philomene Boudreaux May, 93, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 7:07 p.m., at the Franklin Health Care Center. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.
Survivors include one son, John Peter May Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Ville Platte; five daughters, Betty May Pillaro and her husband, Luke Sr., of Franklin; Joyce May Bolton and her husband, Clyde, of Franklin; Peggy May Parra of Youngsville; Denise May Crandell of Franklin; and Connie May John and her husband, Bill, of Broussard; one son-in-law, Victor Caro of Franklin; 25 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Peter May Sr.; one daughter, Mary Jane May Caro; one granddaughter, Deanna Pillaro; four brothers, Joe, Leonce, Alvin, and Noah Boudreaux; two sisters, Eve Boudreaux and Rose Boudreaux Dupre; and two sons-in-law, Salvador Parra and Horace Billiot Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at the Church of the Assumption from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 1 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 11 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Pillaro Jr., Scott Pillaro, Cory Picard, Ivy Hebert Jr., Austin Hebert and Brandon Hebert.
