Joseph Lantier, a native of Rayne and a resident of Patterson, passed away Jan. 15, 2014, at the age of 69.
Joseph worked for and retired from McDermott. He was a very dedicated man. Joseph was never late and would put in many hours. He worked hard and became a supervisor. Joseph enjoyed music and he was a self-taught musician. He played the harmonica and the steel guitar.
Joseph served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a pilot during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of The American Legion, The VFW, DVA, Blind Veterans, Forty & Eight, and the EAA.
Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory, Debra Mills of Patterson; his grandchildren, William Forster, Scott Forster, Kimberly Alcina, Christine Forster, Joseph Alcina and Nicholas Paul Daigle; and his godson, Keith Suire of Deridder.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lantier Sr. and Nedia Badeaux; his sister, Gussie Acenedo; and his brother, Billy Badeaux.
The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct full military honors at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. A memorial Mass for Joseph will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.
