Jan Mathew Chauvin
CANDLER, N.C. — Jan Mathew Chauvin, 55, of Candler, N.C., and formerly of Morgan City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Chauvin was the son of the late Clayton William and Billie Ann Boudreaux Chauvin. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Buckner.
Jan was a member of Redemption World Outreach Center, Greenville, S.C., and VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America). He was an accomplished musician, and artist, specializing in oil painting. He was a loving husband, father, friend and known as a man after God’s own heart.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy Clayton Chauvin; grandchildren, Alyssa Buckner and Elijah Buckner; sisters, Donna Bucci and Ann Oncale, both of Morgan City; brothers, Louis Chauvin of Morgan City, John Chauvin of Garland, Texas, and Barry Chauvin of Asheville, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Kelsy, Rachel, Ellie, Zach, Jessica, Adrienne, Mark, Scott, Valerie, Amber and Arthur Louis; and by many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Crossroads Assembly, 20 South Bear Creek Road, Asheville, N.C., with the Revs. Glenn Abbott and Wade Zachary officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made in his honor to the “Jan Mathew Chauvin Memorial Fund” at Wells Fargo Bank, 53 Westridge Marketplace, Candler, NC 28715.
