On June 22, 2014, our father, Henry Lewis Wiggins was called home to be with our spiritual father.
Henry was born to the union of Rutha Lovely and Pastor Albert Wiggins on December 24, 1948. Under the guidance of his earthly father, Henry grew up under the spiritual robes of Charity Baptist Church where his father served as its very first pastor. He accepted Christ at a very early age and became a deacon later in life.
He was a student of Willow Street and Park Avenue High School and graduated in 1966. Henry enlisted with the Army and served in the infantry where he served five years. Those who knew him, knew that he was a proud Vietnam veteran that wore his service proudly.
He furthered his military affiance by serving on the West St. Mary Honor Guard and Funeral Squad for many years. As a member, he was devoted to being there whenever called.
He was preceded in eternal rest by his parents, Albert and Rutha Lovely; sisters: Louise Carson, Rutha Mae and Marietta; and nephew, Jeff Carson.
Henry leaves to carry on his loving memories his sister, Tracy Wiggins Verdun; two daughters, Crystal and Stacey Wiggins; his nieces: Tawana Colbert, Tina Edwards, Yolanda Wiggins and Lashantae Diggs; his nephews. Jonathan Diggs and Albert Wiggins; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Charity Baptist Church in Franklin, with Pastor John C. Davis officiating. Entombment will be in Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
