No arrests in Morgan City armed robbery
MORGAN CITY, La. — Four days after three men robbed at gunpoint the owner of the Mi Ranchito store on the corner of La. 182 and Roderick Street, none of the suspects have been found, and the Morgan City Police Department has no news to report on the investigation, according to Assistant Chief Glenn Blanco.
Shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday, as the owners were preparing to open the store, three males entered the building through a rear door. At least one of them was armed with a black revolver, and he forced the owner into a cooler, according to Blanco.
During the ensuing struggle, one shot was fired, and the bullet grazed the owner’s head, Blanco said. Another assailant struck the owner with a bottle.
The male owner and at least two women were inside the store at the time of the robbery. The assailants were not able to take any cash. All three suspects exited via the rear door through which they had entered, the chief said.
A fourth suspect is the alleged driver of the vehicle, which is described as a blue Ford Aerostar minivan with the license plate FTP4497, Blanco said. The license plate itself is orange in color.
These men are considered armed and dangerous. If they are spotted, call local law enforcement, Blanco said.
Any person with information that might aid the investigation is asked to call the Morgan City Police Detective Division at 985-380-4605.
