Naquin appointed to national board
St. Mary Parish President Paul P. Naquin Jr. recently was appointed to the National Association of Counties’ Board of Directors.
The appointment was made by NACo President Lenny Eliason, commissioner, Athens County, Ohio, during the association’s 76th Annual Conference and Exposition, July 15-19, in Multnomah County/Portland, Ore.
Members of the NACo Board of Directors manage the business and property of the association, determine NACo’s mission as identified by the members, monitor NACo’s success in fulfilling its mission and ensure that NACo continues to fulfill its mission.
Naquin, who currently serves as president of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana, was appointed by the NACo president as a representative of the state association.
Naquin has been active in NACo for more than 10 years.
“It is an honor to be appointed by President Eliason to serve on NACo’s Board of Directors,” Naquin said. “These tough times are affecting all aspects of local government and how we deliver essential services and programs to our communities. It is critical that parish/county officials speak with one strong voice before Congress and the administration. This is best accomplished through a respected and effective national organization like NACo.”
