MORGAN CITY — Both Morgan City High School soccer teams fell at home Tuesday to E.D. White.

The Lady Tigers fell 2-1, while the boys’ squad fell 2-0.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Tigers were trying to complete a district sweep of E.D. White.

During the first round of district in Thibodaux, Morgan City rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to defeat E.D. White, 3-2.

However, during Tuesday’s game, both teams entered halftime tied at 1 before E.D. White scored the winning goal in the second half.

While E.D. White struck first in the first half, Morgan City responded with a goal when Celeste Williams scored following a free kick by Sarah Patterson.

While the boys also fell, the Tigers put forth a better game compared to the first matchup in Thibodaux when Morgan City fell to E.D. White, 8-0.

E.D. White took a 2-0 lead at the half and scored another goal in the second-half.

Both squads will resume district play Thursday when they host South Terrebonne in district play. While the game originally was scheduled for Jan. 11, it was rained out.

Girls will take the field at 5 p.m. and boys will follow.
