Morgan City police arrest man wanted by Patterson police on multiple charges

Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Glenn Blanco reported the following arrests:

—Darian D. Bridget, 18, of Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:53 p.m. Saturday on charges of resisting an officer, and from the Patterson Police Department for armed robbery, attempted second degree murder, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Bridget was located in the Mallard Street area when he ran from officers who were in the area investigating a separate wanted person complaint. Bridget was released on bail from the Morgan City Police Department and is waiting to be taken to the Patterson Police Department.

—Cletis T. Viet-Vu, 30, of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 7:06 p.m. on a charge for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

Officers were dispatched to a residential burglary in progress on Park Road. Upon arrival, it was learned from neighboring witnesses that someone was seen entering the home. Officers entered the residence and located Viet-Vu who was trying to steal assorted cash and going through items in the home while the homeowner was gone, the report stated. Viet-Vu was taken to city jail and held on $55,000 bail.

—Bobby L. Seely J., 37, of Labadieville, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Friday on a warrant for the Thibodaux Police Department at Fisherman’s Wharf. Seely was released to the Thibodaux Police Department.

—Isaac Lisboa-Morales, 30, of Thomas St. Gretna, was arrested at 2:04 a.m. Sunday on charges of DWI, careless operation and first degree vehicular negligent injuring on La. 182 near Myrtle Street. Morales is being held on a $35,000 bail.

—Juan J. Martinez, 56, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:55 p.m. Sunday on a charge of first offense DWI. He was released from jail on a $1,500 bail.

Morales struck another vehicle in the rear that was stopped while headed west causing the second vehicle to travel off the roadway into a private parking lot striking two additional vehicles, the report stated. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as Martinez, had serious injuries and was hospitalized. Morales failed field sobriety and intoxilyzer testing with .154 grams-percent blood alcohol content, and the driver of the second vehicle, Martinez, also failed a sobriety test, the report stated.

—Katherine Mitchell, 46, of Apple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:44 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for telephone harassment at Mount Street near Railroad Avenue. She was released on a $642 bail.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:

—Starlene Boutte, 52, of La. 87 in Jeanerette, was arrested at 7:19 p.m. Sunday for illegal use of a weapon and cruelty to animals.

—Terry Caudill Jr., 27, of La. 87 in Jeanerette, was arrested at 7:19 p.m. Sunday for simple assault, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and leash law violation.

A deputy responded to a residence on La. 87 in Jeanerette in reference to a complaint of animal cruelty. During the investigation the deputy learned that Boutte had shot Caudill’s dog in the leg with a pellet gun after that animal entered her yard and attempted to fight with her dog, the report stated. Following the incident, Claudill entered Boutte’s residence and began yelling and making threats, the report stated. Both Boutte and Claudill were taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.

—Jeanette Damon, 22, of Big Four Corners Road in Jeanerette, was arrested at 8:58 p.m. Saturday for illegal use of a dangerous weapon. A deputy responded to a complaint of a firearm being discharged at a residence. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Damon fired a shotgun from her residence after she observed a subject in a neighbor’s yard, the report stated. Damon was taken to the parish jail and held. She was released on recognizance.

—Tarao Walker, 26, of Mallard Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:51 p.m. Thursday at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on a charge of simple battery. Walker, an inmate at the jail, struck another inmate during a fight, the report stated. Walker was jailed and held. No bail has been set.

—Marlon Caballero, 33, of Martin Lane in Amelia, was arrested at 10:20 a.m. Friday on charges for two counts of simple burglary. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of a vehicle burglary on Magnolia Street.

Upon arrival, the deputy learned from the complainant that she caught a subject breaking into her car. The complainant provided the deputy with a description of the subject. The deputy then asked residents and others if they had seen anyone in the area matching that description. A woman was able to direct the deputy to the Quick General. While at the store, the deputy located a man matching the description and took him back to the residence for identification. The complainant and other witnesses were able to positively identify the man, Caballero, as the person who took her belongings from her vehicle, the report stated. Caballero was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set at this time. The complainant’s purse and some of the other items taken from the vehicle were recovered. The vehicle was unlocked at the time of the burglary.

—George L. Blanchard Jr., 53, of La. 1 in Napoleonville, was arrested at 2:09 p.m. Friday for hit and run driving. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to the Amelia Belle Casino parking lot in reference to a crash. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from the complainant that someone had crashed into her vehicle while she was inside the casino. Using surveillance footage the deputy was able to identify and locate the suspect vehicle which was still in the parking lot. The deputy then identified the owner of the vehicle, Blanchard and located him inside the casino. Following further investigation, Blanchard was released on a summons to appear in court on Feb. 27, 2013.

—Lindsay Stanton, 26, of La. 182 in Jeanerette, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. Friday for simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery and during the investigation, the deputy learned that Stanton and the victim were arguing when Stanton began chasing the female victim, the report stated. The victim was scratched on her wrist during the encounter. Stanton was taken to the parish jail and held. Stanton was released on a $500 bail.

—Barry Ewing, 67, of La. 319 in Cypremort Point, was arrested at 4:08 p.m. Saturday for aggravated assault and simple battery.

—Joshua Viator, 18, of Twain Street in Duson, was arrested Saturday for simple battery

A deputy patrolling the Sorrel area responded to a complaint in reference to the removal of a subject. Upon arrival at a residence on La. 319 the deputy learned that Ewing and Viator were involved in a fight during which Ewing pulled out a knife, the report stated. Both Ewing and Viator were taken to the parish jail and held. Ewing was released on a $1,500 bail. Viator’s bail is set at $500.

—Reva Shanna Thomas, 22, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:11 p.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor. A deputy responding to a complaint of a theft at a store in Amelia stopped a vehicle on La. 182 matching the description of a vehicle suspected to be involved. During the investigation the deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located marijuana belonging to one of the passengers in the vehicle, the report stated. Thomas was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.

—James A. Thurman, 31, of Shorty Drive in New Orleans, was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday on charges of DWI, improper lane usage and driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle on La. 182 traveling east in the westbound lane and conducted a traffic stop. Thurman failed the field sobriety test and registered .088 grams-percent on the breath test, the report stated. He was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.

—Julio Cesar Vega Sanchez, 28, of Deare Street in New Iberia, was arrested Sunday on a charge for operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area responded to a vehicle crash on U.S. 90. During the investigation, the deputy learned that, Sanchez, a driver involved in the crash, did not have a driver’s license or passport and was not in the U.S. legally, the report stated. Sanchez was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.

—Dustin A. Thibodeaux, 27, of Nicole Lane in Berwick, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Sunday for DWI second offense and following too closely. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle on La. 182 following another vehicle very closely and conducted a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Thibodeaux, the deputy detected the odor of alcohol on his breath, the report stated. Thibodeaux failed the field sobriety test and registered .131 grams-percent on the breath test, the report stated. He was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.

—Tommy Donati II, 30, of Hazel Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:35 a.m. Monday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy responding to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on David Road in Bayou Vista, made contact with the occupants. During the investigation, the deputy learned that one of the occupants was wanted on the warrant. Donati was released on a summons to appear in court on March 20, 2013.

—Patrick Boggan, 41, of Yellow Bayou Road in Centerville, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Friday on La. 318 in Four Corners, for possession of drug paraphernalia.

—Darren Boggan, 35, of Yellow Bayou Road in Centerville, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Friday on La. 318 in Four Corners, for possession of drug paraphernalia.

St. Mary Parish Narcotics Division detectives observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. Detectives made contact with the driver, Patrick Boggan, and passenger Darren Boggan. During the investigation, detectives were granted consent to search. Detectives located two small glass pipes on the driver and passenger, the report stated. Both were released on a summons to appear in court on Feb. 27, 2013.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:

—Paige Nicole Mabe, 23, of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:18 a.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace. Mabe was released on a $150 bail.

—Ja’Michael Daray Bowie, 23, of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:18 a.m. Saturday on a charge of disturbing the peace. Bowie was released on a $150 bail.

—Scotty Paul Miller, 21, of Grizzaffi Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:41 p.m. Sunday, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Miller is being held by the Morgan City police for the Berwick police. No bail has been set.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
