Morgan City man arrested for domestic abuse battery, child endangerment
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Scott Joseph Comeaux, 34, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday for domestic abuse battery fourth offense and child endangerment (domestic abuse).
Officers were summoned to a Levee Road address regarding a domestic disturbance and discovered, through statements and physical evidence, that Comeaux had committed a battery on a female inside the residence causing physical injuries, Crouch stated. Comeaux had previously been charged with domestic abuse battery. The incident and confrontation occurred in the presence of a juvenile, Crouch stated. Comeaux was taken to the Morgan City jail and held.
—Jessica Dinger, 25, of Filmore Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. today disturbing the peace by fighting and battery of a correctional officer.
—Bobby Beard, 30, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. today for second degree battery
—William Todd, 30, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. today for disturbing the peace by fighting.
Officers were summoned to the area of Grizzaffi Street regarding a fight, and observed a man running from the scene and attempting to hide behind a business, Crouch stated. Officers located the man along with two other people in the area.
According to witnesses and statements, it was learned that two people had been involved in a physical altercation, Crouch stated. During the altercation, a person attempted to intervene to break up the fight and was struck in the face and nose causing injuries which required medical attention. That person was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center where he was treated for injuries and released. The people involved, identified as Dinger, Beard and Todd all appeared to be in an impaired condition according to officers, Crouch stated.
All three were taken to the Morgan City jail and held. Once they arrived at the facility, Dinger struck a correctional officer and was additionally charged, Crouch stated. Dinger, Beard and Todd remain in jail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
