Morgan City house fire
Morgan City firefighters responded to a fire at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday on Sixth Street in Morgan City. The owner of the home was at the residence, but was not injured, Morgan City Fire Chief Morris Price said. The fire started in the bedroom and is under investigation, Price said. The fire caused about $30,000 in damage to the home, and $5,000 in damage to the contents of the home, Price said. Twenty-one Morgan City Fire Department firefighters and volunteer firefighters responded to the fire and returned to the fire station by 12:59 p.m., Price said. Three pumper trucks and a ladder truck responded, Price said.
