MCHS, Assumption to meet in first round

Morgan City High School and Assumption High School will square off for the third time this season when they meet in Class 4A first-round playoff action today at 5 p.m. in Morgan City. Ex-MCHS baseball players celebrate Alfred's jersey retirement

Trio of area teams make playoffs

Morgan City, Berwick and Central Catholic all qualified for high school softball postseason play. Berwick, the No. 25 seed in Class 3A, will travel to face No. 8 seed Pine Prairie Saturday in a 6 p.m. contest. Meanwhile, Morgan City, Class 4A’s No. 13 seed, will host No. 20 Assumption Monday at 5 p.m., while Central Catholic, Class 1A’s No. 12 seed, will host No. 21 Ascension Christian in a 5 p.m. contest Monday.
