Lady Tigers drop doubleheader; Berwick splits

Morgan City High School dropped a doubleheader to St. Joseph’s Academy Saturday in Morgan City by scores of 8-0 and 7-6. The Lady Tigers will return to action Wednesday when they travel
to face Ellender at 4 p.m.

MCHS sweeps doubleheader from Ellender

Morgan City High School swept a District 7-4A doubleheader with Ellender in two run-rule games in five innings Thursday. The Tigers won the first game 12-2 and followed it up with a 22-0 win. In game two, Morgan City’s Philip Hutchinson, above, tossed a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts. With the wins, Morgan City is 5-1 in district with a half-game lead over Assumption. In a tight, competitive game, Morgan City plated the game winning run in the most unlikely
fashion for a 2-1 victory against Vandebilt Catholic in eight innings Tuesday.
