Minor-Chatman married in double-ring ceremony

Carleese Monique Minor and Martin Luther Chatman Jr. were united in marriage June 30 during a 5 p.m. double-ring ceremony at the Amelia Community Center. The Rev. Willie Otis officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Raynel Humphrey and Denver Chapman Jr., both of Morgan City. The groom is the son of Ann and Martin L. Chatman Sr. of Morgan City.

Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory, mermaid-style gown designed with a semi-sweetheart neckline adorned with a customized sheer strap. The fitted, ruched bodice was accented with a loose skirt adorned with tulle ruffles.

Gracing her head was an ivory visor veil customized with scattered rhinestones and ivory feathers.

She carried a silk bouquet of hydrangea, calla lilies and orchids accented with a begonia-colored feather.

Raven Minor was maid of honor and Shayla Lanus was matron of honor. They each wore short dresses of malibu-colored charmeuse fashioned with a strapless neckline, ruched waist and pockets.

Bridesmaids were Kionda Antoine, Raynesha Dewey and Collie Humphrey. They wore begonia dresses similar to the honor attendants.

Flower girl Emarielle Chatman, daughter of the groom, wore a yellow princess dress.

Logan Leonard, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Micheal Green was best man. Groomsmen were Antonio Collins Jr., Vernon Sanders, Gerald Engleton and Shelby Williams.

Ushers were Denver “Trey” Chapman III and Aquinndus “Buddy” Humphrey, brothers of the bride, and Lloyd “Tank” Singleton.

A reception immediately followed.

Tables and chairs were covered in malibu, yellow and begonia coverings. Tall centerpieces featured flower balls and feathers in malibu and begonia.

The three-tiered wedding cake was designed with white icing and accented with yellow and pink flowers, and malibu and begonia feathers. Tiers featured fillings of lemon, cream cheese and pineapple. Topping the confection were flowers and feathers.

Prior to the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Amelia Community Center.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Morgan City High School.

The groom is a 2000 graduate of MCHS.

They reside in Berwick.
