Meth ring broken say Louisiana State Police

HOUMA, La. — An organization trafficking methamphetamine and marijuana into St. Mary, Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes was broken over the last week with 15 arrests of street-level members, Louisiana State Police said in a news release.

The organization was responsible for importing narcotics from Texas and California, which then were sold from different Terrebonne Parish residences to other distributors and users from Terrebonne, Lafourche and St. Mary parishes, state police stated.

The investigation has been ongoing since August 2011 by the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division, Terrebonne Parish Narcotics Task Force, Lafourche Parish Narcotics Task Force, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the news release stated.

Troopers and agents also made earlier arrests throughout the investigation involving the primary violators and seized about 130 pounds of marijuana, 5.2 pounds of methamphetamine, three firearms, more than $100,000 and two vehicles — all assets used to facilitate narcotics activity, the news release stated.

Those arrested prior to last week’s operation were:

—Richard Strother, Houma, distribution of methamphetamine on July 28.

—Tessie Arceneaux, Houma, distribution of methamphetamine on July 30.

—Gerard Desoto, Houma, possession with intent to distribute marijuana

The operation culminated with the arrest of 15 individuals who were involved in the street-level distribution network of the organization. Those arrested last week were identified by state police as:

—Jamie Plaisance of Mathilde Lane, Gray, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine .

—Katie Cunningham of Lewald Drive, Houma, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

—Kelton Rembert of Richard Drive, Houma, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

—Jeremy Bueche of E. Park Avenue, Houma, possession of methamphetamine .

—Michael Head of Giracie Lane, Gheens, possession of methamphetamine.

—Brian Martin of Barrilleaux Street, Lockport, possession of methamphetamine.

—Riley Grimmette of La. 308, Lockport, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

—Francis Toups Jr. of La. 1, Lockport, possession of methamphetamine.

—Robbie Leblanc of La. 308, Lockport, possession of methamphetamine.

—Perry Blanchard of Barrilleaux Street, Lockport, possession of methamphetamine.

—Paul Loupe of Emile Drive, Lockport, possession of methamphetamine.

—Randy Sagona Jr. of Cypress Village, Houma, possession of methamphetamine.

—Gerald Lebouef Jr. of Country Drive, Bourg, possession of methamphetamine.

—Randy Loupe of Emile Drive, Lockport, possession of methamphetamine.

—Chase Possiterry of Progressive Drive, Houma, distribution of methamphetamine.

All 15 were arrested without incident and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office jail, the news release stated.
