MCHS' Rogers advances to regionals

PATTERSON — Morgan City High School’s Griffin Rogers qualified for regional play after firing a 91 during the Division 2, District 4 golf match at Atchafalaya at Idlewild Tuesday.

Rogers, who was named second-team All-District, will participate in regional action Monday morning at Santa Maria Golf Club in Baton Rouge.

E.D. White’s Zane Andrews recorded the match’s lowest score after shooting a 75. E.D. White easily won the team title with a 331. District runner-up Holy Cross recorded a 379.

E.D. White and Holy Cross, as well as Archbishop Shaw and Assumption, qualified their teams for regional competition.

Morgan City finished seventh with a team total of 430.

Other Morgan City golfers participating included Carter Arcemont with a 102, Ben Vining, 105 and Cameron Marcantel, 132.
