MAVIS ‘RED’ THERIOT ROGERS
Services for Mavis “Red” T. Rogers, 78, formerly of Orangeburg, South Carolina, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, with the Darrell Wilkins and the Rev. Chris Shepler officiating. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Born in Plaquemine, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Myrtle (Ashley) Theriot. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church (Orangeburg) and a homemaker. She enjoyed teaching and working with ceramics.
Surviving are daughters, Paula (Terry) Edens of Crowley; Robin (David) Richard of Bayou Vista; and Diana (Martin) Gonzalez, of Irmo, South Carolina; sons, David (Mitzi) Rogers of Savoy, Texas; Kenneth Rogers of Irmo; and Kerry (Laurie) Rogers of Pineville, La.; sisters, Mazie (George) Cooney of Eatonville, Washington, and twin sister, Melba Coats of North Hollywood, California; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Herman J. Rogers; brothers, Floyd Theriot and Ernest Theriot; sisters, Mae Burguieres and Pearl Curry.
