Adonis Crown Club members gathered for an annual dinner on Feb. 1 at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City. The club is composed of past queens and wives of past kings of the Krewe of Adonis. Special guests were Captain Keith Leonard, King and Queen Adonis XLII Jake Breaux and Carey Gaddis. Past queens also in attendance were, seated from left, Allie Hudson, guests Breaux, Gaddis and Leonard, and queens Sheila Adams and Yvonne Marcell. Earl Francis and his wife Lisa McCurtis-Francis were crowned as the first royalty of the Krewe of Grandeur on Feb. 11 at the Patterson Area Civic Center. King and Queen Grandeur I were part of a 14-piece court that represented the theme, “Elegant Evening with Grandeur.” Trainbearers were Ajayce McCurtis, Dehari McCurtis, Dreshon McCurtis and Durell McCurtis Jr.

The Krewe of Grandeur presented its first Mardi Gras Court and Ball on Feb. 11 at the Patterson Area Civic Center.
Plans have been finalized for the 2017 Cervus-Hephaestus Queens’ Club Social and Luncheon. The event will be held Feb. 25 at Café Jo Jo’s in Morgan City.
