Man arrested on warrants for terrorizing and public intimidation
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Jason Cavalier, 35, of Cremo Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 6:40 p.m. Thursday on warrants for terrorizing and public intimidation. Narcotics detectives located Cavalier at his residence on the warrants. The warrant stems from an incident in which Cavalier made verbal threats toward police officers, according to Hebert. He was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
—Barron Kenner, 39, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:59 p.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana third offense.
—Carlise Grogan, 22, of Barrow Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:59 p.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana.
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Berwick area conducted a traffic stop on Second Street after the driver failed to signal a turn. Detectives met with the driver, identified as Kenner, and the passenger, identified as Grogan. Detectives smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle, the report stated. After receiving consent to search, detectives located marijuana in the vehicle, Hebert stated. Kenner was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set. Grogan was released on a summons.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Shalonda Smith, 29, of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. today for obstruction of justice. Smith is being held with no bail set.
—Daven Abraham, 22, of Anderson Street in Franklin, was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Thursday on a Franklin city court warrant for failure to appear for headlights required, no driver’s license and no proof of insurance. Abraham paid the $410 fine at the city of Franklin.
—Quentin Cooper, 22, of Poncio Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. Friday on a Morgan City warrant for reckless operation. Cooper is being held without bail and was taken to the Morgan City Jail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
