Man arrested on warrant for rape
A Pineville man was arrested Wednesday by St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of simple rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
Robert Willis, 29, of Rifle Range Road in Pineville, was arrested at 2:07 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of simple rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. A deputy located Willis at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. Willis was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
A Bourg man was arrested Wednesday in Bayou Vista by St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s narcotics division detectives on multiple drug charges including having a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone.
Dale Paul Olivier, 20, of Jeff Drive in Bourg, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, abuse of toxic vapors, violation of a controlled dangerous substance drug free zone law, and failure to signal.
Narcotics division detectives observed the driver of a vehicle fail to activate a blinker before turning into the Bayou Vista Skate Park parking lot. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Olivier.
During the investigation, detectives received consent to search the vehicle and located synthetic cannabinoids and drug paraphernalia, the report stated. Olivier was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Nicholas Walter Grimmett, 32, of South Verret Street in Amelia, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. today for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of domestic abuse at a residence on South Verret Street. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with an 18-year-old pregnant female victim. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Grimmett and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical encounter when Grimmett grabbed her by the throat, the report stated. The victim fled from the residence to a neighbor’s home and contacted the SMPSO. Grimmett was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
—Kristen Leah Wiggins, 32, of David Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday for hit and run driving and careless operation. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area observed a parked car at the residence listed above that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a hit and run incident which occurred Sunday on Lagonda Road in Bayou Vista.
Using pieces of the vehicle left behind at the site of the hit and run accident, the deputy identified the parked vehicle as the car belonging to the driver that left the scene. Upon further investigation, the deputy identified Wiggins as the driver. Wiggins was issued a summons to appear in court on June 12.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Clifton J. Turner, 26, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday for simple battery.
—Keith E. Bourgeois, 21, of Domino Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday for simple battery.
Officers of the Morgan City Police Department were called to a First Street address in Morgan City in regard to a battery committed. When officers arrived, they located the victim who advised officers he was attacked. Officers began their investigation and identified Turner and Bourgeois as suspects, the report stated. The incident allegedly occurred at a Freret Street address in Morgan City. Turner and Bourgeois were taken to jail and held. The victim received medical treatment for minor injuries and was released. Turner was released after posting $692 bail. Bourgeois remains in jail.
—Kristy W. Slack, 38, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for contempt of court.
Slack was located at the Morgan City Police Department. She was taken to jail and held. She was released after posting $500 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Jason Cavalier, 39, of Hilda Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:27 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for violation of a protective order. He was transferred to St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. Bail is set at $10,000.
Patterson police arrested the following:
—Dontell Williams, 19, of Ellis Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:15 a.m. March 7 for criminal damage and disturbing the peace. Williams was released on bail.
—Jessie Fontenot, 36, of Marie Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:42 p.m. March 7 for suspended driver’s license, no insurance, expired motor vehicle inspection sticker and expired license. Fontenot paid the fine and was released.
—Derek Gould, 28, of Versen Street in Berwick, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Friday for driving left of center, DWI first offense, suspended driver’s license and no insurance. Gould was released on bail.
—Brandon J. Payton, 22, of Third Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:43 p.m. Friday for no tail lights, no driver’s license and no auto insurance. Payton paid the fine and was released.
—Darrell Warren, 35, of North Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans, was arrested at 1:29 a.m. Saturday for speeding more than 25 mph, careless operation and suspended driver’s license. Warren paid the fine and was released.
—Blade Jared Jett, 24, of Enterprise Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. Sunday for driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage. Jett was released on bail.
—Brenda Blankenburg, 47, of La. 663 in Morgan City, was arrested at 2 p.m. Monday for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana first offense. Blankenburg was released on bail.
—Thurman Roller, 22, of Marie Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:59 a.m. Tuesday for suspended driver’s license and lights required. Roller is still being held.
—Nina F. Brown, 30, of Robin Nest Lane in Lafayette, was arrested at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday for speeding 78 mph in a 55 mph zone and suspended driver’s license. Brown paid the fine and was released.
—Fernando Sanchez, 42, of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday for no headlights, suspended driver’s license and expired motor vehicle inspection sticker. Sanchez is still being held.
